Stress Awareness

This course is designed with you in mind and can be fully tailored to meet your specific needs. This course will help you to understand what stress is and how you can support yourself and others in improving and maintaining a sense of positive mental health and wellbeing. Stress is one of the leading factors for ill health which in turn impacts upon your wellbeing. This course will provide you with some tools and ideas for helping to reduce your stress levels.  

There are two options for this course a half-day (4 hours) which is a theory only session or a full-day (7 hours) which includes a variety of activities in the afternoon to demonstrate some of the tools that can be used to improve your wellbeing and mental health. 

This course covers:

- What is stress?
- Short-term vs long-term stress
- Recognising the difference between stress and pressure
- Good stress vs bad stress
- Stressors (to include physical, environmental, behavioural, cognitive, social and work-related)
- Understanding stress and anxiety
- Understanding the stress response including recognition of the symptoms 
- The importance of reducing stress
- Techniques to manage stress including the 5 ways to wellbeing
- The benefits of using stress management


Key information
- A maximum of 12 participants can be accommodated on the course to ensure quality of teaching.
- If choosing the full day course, each participant will be required to complete a health declaration form as there are practical elements to the full day course.
- There is the option to request a certificate of attendance.

Course duration: 
Half-day - 4 hours (theory only)
Full-day - 7 hours (theory and practical)

The full day is inclusive of two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break (please note lunch is not provided).

Half-day course: £50, payment due on booking
Full-day course: £100, payment due on booking
